Ferrari Scandinavia Challenge Testday at Knutstorp 2nd of May

The traditional FSC testday at Knutstorp became at ”wet” driving event and to be honest a very wet event.

After a steady rain all morning the track dried up at around 10.30 and all the optimists thought it would stay like this all day. But they were wrong. At 1100 the rain started again and this time it came really hard and converted the track into a slippery mess for the rest of the day.

The testday was a joint venture of the Ferrari Challenge cars and the new Swedish JTCC series, a new group N like standard series also driving on Kumho Tires and Kumho did a full support on the day for both Ferrari and JTCC cars. However, testing of tires was almost impossible under these circumstances and many drivers stayed on their rain tires all day.

All the drivers had much respect for the wet and difficult track and accidents were avoided although some drivers were impressively fast in the rain.

Among the new drivers in the 2005 FSC we saw 348 Challenge driver Christian Overgaard and 360 Challenge driver Fredrik Østereng. Especially Fredrik has been testing quite a lot recently and could become”rookie of the year” if he continues his good pace. Other 360 Challenge drivers like Allan Jørgensen and Rasmus Girsel also tried their luck in the wet and both could bring their cars back in once piece this time although the wet conditions. The busiest testers were Fleming Jensen and Kurt Jeppson in their 355´s and in the afternoon Swedish drivers Rolf Fransson and Claes Lund took the opportunity to do a few laps before closing time. Rolf was, however, stopped by an oil leakage that made his big 550GT send out smoke signals all over Knutstorp.

Not the best start of the 2005 Challenge season, but we will have good opportunities to test at the first race in Padborg in order to help everybody to get some practice.
